Unique constructions
  • The challenge

When refurbishing iconic buildings, such as the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Chapel, the only temple in Cartagena declared as being of cultural interest, it is important to treat them intricately and very carefully, especially since this building still retains the same iconography and original furnishings since it was created in 1868.

    The solution

The entrance door needed to be restored to its original appearance, which had deteriorated due to woodworm, dirt and adverse weather conditions. The following steps were taken:

    1. The doors were stripped with Quitamont Geland the surfaces were cleaned

    2. Klearsyl Anticarcoma was used to treat for woodworm

    3. Holes and imperfections were repaired with Plasmont Madera

    4. The door leaves were moisturised and protected with Aceite de Linaza

    5. 2 coats of Barniz Sintético Universal in matt were applied
